4 Years Old!

This little girl had a birthday recently.

Evangeline turned 4 this week and is a little cutie. She wanted to go to the waterpark for her birthday, but Elizabeth had to get a TB test for school and couldn't get it wet, so Eva graciously chose the zoo instead. We had a lot of fun seeing the animals. The kids were so excited about the animals they didn't want to stop for pictures. So I only got a few. After the zoo we went home, ordered pizza from the "pizza man" (per Eva's request), and had cake and ice cream. Evangeline loved all of her presents and hugged every one of them after she opened it. She even ran to her sister, hugged her and excitedly thanked her for the mermaid Barbie. It was really cute.

I love Eva's face. It clearly reads, "Enough pictures mommy, let's start the fun."

Eva wanted a Strawberry Shortcake birthday. Here is here cake.

William's Friend

When we were moving into our new house our neighbor stopped by with his kitten. About half and hour later the kitten came back to visit us. William loved him. He followed him around for 45 minutes, picking the cat up and petting him. I was amazed at the cat's patience. He took it and seemed to even enjoy the attention.

One of our new lizard friends that I caught in our new house. They are kind of cute until you find their poop all over the place.

These next few pictures are from the condo we rented while we were waiting for our house to be ready and our things to arrive from the mainland.

I loved this quilt that was on the bed. I really want to get one. The only problem is that they cost between $300-$800 or more depending on size.

Hawaii

We have been in Hawaii for just shy of two months now. So far we are adjusting well. When we first got here it felt more like a vacation because we were in temporary housing waiting for our things to arrive. We rented a small one bedroom condo close to the beach on the North Shore. We really enjoyed it. It was a bit cramped, but had everything we needed (kitchen, dishes, laundry, etc.) to get us through the next month. We went to the beach frequently and enjoyed sitting on the patio in the evenings. Lance even got to go dumpster diving on Father's day when William threw my wallet away and we didn't notice it was missing until it was in the bottom of the dumpster.

We finally moved into our house on the 26th of June, even though our things hadn't arrived yet. We only had to wait a week, but one week living in an empty house and sleeping on air mattresses really makes you appreciate what you have, like something to sit on instead of the floor.

We really like where we live. There are a lot of pros and cons, like we live in a gated community with it's own beach, fitness center, security guards, stand alone houses and elementary school, but the houses are old and have a lot of bugs(aka ants and termites) and a lot of little lizards that poop everywhere. The lizards were cute at first until I discovered what they leave behind. They do eat the bugs, though. The walls of our house are very thin, so thin that when we hung up pictures a few of the longer nails went right through the wall and are sticking out of the side of the house. :)  So we have a few things to get used to, but compared to other places we looked at this was the best. Overall, we are very happy with where we are and how things are going.

I haven't taken a lot of photos since we have been here (naughty me). But I will show you what I have taken so far. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of Eva on the beach. I have one on my tablet, but I have no idea how to get it from there to the blog. So if anyone knows how, let me know.

Baltimore Zoo

By the front gate of the zoo there is a playground and the kids loved it. They especially loved throwing the bits of chopped up old tire used instead of sand.

Eva found these bug goggles in the gift shop and it was just too funny not to post.

Baltimore Zoo

While Lance stayed at our house with the packers for our move to Hawaii, I decided to take the kiddos to the zoo. I wanted to keep them entertained and out of the packers way.

The girls got to feed a giraffe. As you can see they were a little bit scared.

The best shot of all three of them I got.

The Last Year

Well, it's catch up time again. So much has happened this last year. We have celebrated birthdays and holidays and enjoyed Maryland. We were also given the opportunity to move to Hawaii and we jumped on it. I mean, come on, it's Hawaii. We are in Hawaii now, but before I go into all of that I wanted to post what's been going on in our lives the last year before talking about now. So I went through all of our pictures and pulled out a random assortment. A lot of the pictures are rough, but I posted them anyway because I don't have anyway to edit them anymore. I hope you still enjoy them.

My Birthday

The girls helped Lance bake and decorate my cake

Of course it snowed on my birthday (can't have my birthday without it). So the girls and I went out and had some fun. We never got more than an inch or two of snow, which would then melt the next day.

William turns 1!

William wasn't sure what he was supposed to be doing. It wasn't until we put him in his highchair with a piece of his cake that he finally thought "Oh... I 'm supposed to be eating this."
